We’re holding a targeted heart health event for Black African and Caribbean men registered at Charlotte Keel Medical Practice. Come along for a simple blood pressure check, support from our team and help to take small steps now to stay well for longer.

Why this event matters
High blood pressure often has no symptoms. You can feel well and still have it.
This event is about helping people check their health early, get support and take action now to stay well. A simple check can help spot problems early and help prevent more serious health problems later on.
Why is this event for Black African and Caribbean men?
We know that Black African and Caribbean communities can be more affected by high blood pressure and stroke.
We also know that men are sometimes less likely to come forward for checks until there is a problem.
This event is part of our work to support earlier checks, earlier conversations and better long-term health.
What to expect on the day
On the day, you can expect:

a simple blood pressure check

blood tests if needed

the chance to use our patient health pod

support from staff to help you use the pod

friendly advice and signposting

support from local partners, including Empire Fighting Chance, Sirona Link Workers Asiyah and Samira, and Caafi Health
A welcoming and supportive event
We want this event to feel welcoming, easy and useful.
You do not need to feel unwell to come. This is about taking a small step now to help protect your health in the future.
The event will be a mix of booked appointments and drop-in support.
